Improvisation Skills Trainer
Jason is a specialist in improvisation skills training. Improvisation releases your creativity and is all about saying yes! By saying yes we open ourselves up to new possibilities and by working together we can achieve so much more.
Jason started his improv journey with The Maydays in Brighton, UK in 2005. He attended one of their excellent courses and was invited to join the troupe. Since then he has performed in countless shows with them and taught numerous courses and workshops. In 2008 he attended the world famous iO Chicago to learn long form improvisation techniques. He has also trained how to perform improvised songs with Nancy Howland Walker.
Returning to South Africa he co-founded the improvisation skills organisation Improv Cape Town in 2011 with his friend John Cremer. After teaching his first course he established Cape Town's newest improvisation troupe The Long Shots. He also teaches a regular drop in class every Thursday where anyone can learn how to improvise in a fun environment.
These simple and effective skills can also be used in business with tremendous results. Improvisation skills promotes innovation, engagement, problem solving, and team building. Some of the benefits are that it unlocks people's creativity to help find creative solutions and improves confidence in others. It also helps leaders identify new strengths and potential in colleagues and employees.

Jason worked in the corporate sector for over 10 years. He was a trainer and supervisor in UK call centres for American Express, Legal & General and Family Investments. His main responsibilities included new hire training, telephone and face to face support, and customer complaints. He also spent some time as a business development adviser for Nestle. Jason therefore appreciates the value of a happy working environment and understands the challenges involved in achieving results.
These experiences has benefited him when using improvisation in business. Role play and forum theatre techniques with Chris Stagg Associates when training senior management has also been useful. Courses included Influence & Conflict Negotiation Management Skills, and Leadership & Development Skills. Jason has also used improvisation to assist companies in brand rejuvenation workshops with The Brand Conspiracy London.
