I am part of award-winning improv comedy company The Maydays. I attended their beginners course in 2005 and landed up joining the troupe! In 2008 I attended the iO Chicago 5 Week Summer Intensive to learn advanced longform improvisation.
In 2011 I returned to his native South Africa where I co-founded Improv Cape Town with John Cremer. I started running regular drop in classes and workshops, and later formed The Long Shots improv comedy troupe. As artistic director of Improv Cape Town I have worked with a variety of clients including: South African Cricket Team, Sisanda FunDaytion, Activate! Change Drivers, Boo! Media, Western Cape Schools Festival, Varsity College, and Toastmasters. I also established The Extra Butter Improv Jam (EBJ) co-hosted with Robin Hitchcock. EBJ was a monthly variety night that where people could jam, showcase new work or just enjoy a great show! It was the springboard for Mad Horse, my duo improv show with Mark Sykes.
I developed and taught the improvisation skills syllabus at Act Cape Town film school. Students went on to form their own troupe called The Coffee Breaks. In 2016 I helped organise and perform in the inaugural Mama City Improv Festival, Cape Town's very first international improv festival.
I returned to England in 2016 and am now the artistic director, trainer and performer at Improv Gym.
